Abstract

Hepatitis is still a world health problem. According to the Ministry of Health, in 2023 more than 20 million cases of Hepatitis B will occur in Indonesia. Hepatitis can interfere with liver function and cause liver damage, which is called liver necrosis. HBsAg examination accompanied by SGOT and SGPT can be an initial screening to determine liver function disorders due to the Hepatitis B virus or to monitor the effectiveness of therapy in patients who are already infected. This study tested the relationship between SGOT and SGPT with HBsAg titers using the Chi Square test. Of the 23 samples, the majority of SGOT and SGPT activities were normal (34.8%). In the Chi Square test the results were p SGOT – HBsAg 0.022 < 0.05 and p SGPT – HBsAg 0.002 < 0.05. This means that there is a relationship between SGOT and SGPT with HBsAg titer. Liver damage that reaches the mitochondria causes an increase in the SGOT enzyme. The process of eliminating the Hepatitis B virus is liver cell necrosis due to a specific immune response from T and B lymphocyte cells causing an increase in SGPT. When the infection is chronic, the body will lose immune tolerance and cause an increase in liver enzymes. Normal SGOT and SGPT indicate an initial infection that has a healthy prognosis or a Hepatitis B patient with treatment.

Additional Information: Hepatitis masih menjadi salah satu masalah kesehatan dunia. Menurut kemenkes tahun 2023 lebih dari 20 juta kasus Hepatitis B terjadi di Indonesia. Hepatitis dapat mengganggu fungsi hati hingga merusak organ hati yang disebut nekrosis hati. Pemeriksaan HBsAg disertai dengan SGOT dan SGPT bisa menjadi skrining awal untuk mengetahui gangguan fungsi hati akibat virus Hepatitis B atau untuk memantau efektifitas terapi pada pasien yang sudah terinfeksi. Penelitian ini menguji hubungan antara SGOT dan SGPT dengan titer HBsAg menggunakan uji Chi Square (Chi Kuadrat). Dari 23 sampel didapatkan paling banyak aktivitas SGOT dan SGPT yang normal (34,8%). Pada uji Chi Square hasil p SGOT – HBsAg 0,022 < 0,05 dan p SGPT – HBsAg 0,002 < 0,05. Artinya terdapat hubungan SGOT dan SGPT terhadap titer HBsAg. Keruskan hati yang mencapai mitokondria menyebabkan peningkatan enzim SGOT. Proses eliminasi virus Hepatitis B berupa nekrosis sel hati karena respon imun spesifik dari sel limfosit T dan B menyebabkan peningkatan SGPT. Ketika infeksi sudah kronis tubuh akan kehilangan toleransi imun dan menyebabkan peningkatan enzim hati. Pada keadaan SGOT dan SGPT yang normal menandakan infeksi awal yang mempunyai prognosis sehat atau pasien Hepatitis B dengan pengobatan. Kata kunci : HBsAg, SGOT, SGPT
