Abstract

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is a general term used to describe the invasion of microorganisms in the urinary tract. In Indonesia, UTI is a disease that often occurs in infants to the elderly. As women get older, UTIs occur more frequently in women than men because women's urethra is shorter than men's. To be able to diagnose whether a patient has a UTI, a urine examination is carried out. Urine examination should be carried out <1 hour after sample collection. However, often the large number of urine samples that have just been examined and other conditions cause delays in urine examinations. This study aims to determine the results of the number of leukocytes and bacteria in fresh urine with urine delayed for 3 hours at room temperature and refrigerator temperature in patients with suspected UTI. This type of research is descriptive quantitative with an analytical observation approach. The number of samples was 69 with the criteria of women aged 20-50 years using random urine taken using purposive sampling. Data was processed using Spss 22.00 for Windows. From the univariate analysis obtained from fresh urine, urine delayed 3 hours at room temperature and refrigerator temperature, the highest leukocyte count was 5-10/LPB with urine samples delayed 3 hours at refrigerator temperature. And the results for the highest number of urine bacteria were positive (+) with fresh urine samples. From bivariate analysis, statistical analysis data using the Wilcoxon test showed that the results of examination of fresh urine and urine delayed 3 hours at room temperature and refrigerator temperature for leukocytes and bacteria had a significant difference at p<0.05 (p = 0.000 and 0.002). Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there is a difference in the results of the number of leukocytes and bacteria in fresh urine compared to urine that was delayed for 3 hours at room temperature and refrigerator temperature in patients with suspected urinary tract infections (UTI).

Additional Information: Infeksi Saluran Kemih (ISK) adalah istilah umum yang dipakai untuk menyatakan adanya invasi mikroorganisme pada saluran kemih. Di Indonesia ISK merupakan penyakit yang sering pada usia bayi sampai orang tua. Semakin bertambahnya usia, kejadian ISK lebib banyak terjadi pada perempuan dibandingkan laki-laki karena urethra perempuan lebih pendek dibandingkan laki-laki. Untuk dapat mendiagnosa seseorang pasien terkena ISK maka dilakukan pemeriksaan urin. Pemeriksaan urine sebaiknya dilakukan <1 jam setelah pengambilan sampel. Namun seringkali dengan banyaknya jumlah sampel urine yang barus diperiksa dan kondisi lain yang menyebabkan terjadinya penundaan pemeriksaan urin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil jumlah leukosit dan bakteri urine segar dengan urine yang ditunda selama 3 jam di suhu ruang dan suhu lemari pendingin pada pasien suspek ISK. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriktif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan observasi analitik. Jumlah sample sebanyak 69 dengan kriteria wanita berusia 20-50 tabun menggunakan urine sewaktu yang diambil secara Sampling Purposive. Data diolah menggunakan Spss 22.00 for windows. Dari analisa univariat di dapatkan pada urine segar, urine tunda 3 jam di suhu ruang dan suhu lemari pendingin hasil jumlah leukosit paling tertinggi terdapat di 5-10/LPB dengan sampel urine yang ditunda 3 jam di suhu lemari pendingin. Dan hasil jumlah bakteri urine paling tertinggi terdapat di positif (+) dengan sampel urine segar. Dari analisa bivariat, data analisis statistik menggunakan uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan bahwa hasil pemeriksaan urine segar dan urine di tunda 3 jam pada suhu ruang dan suhu lemari pendingin terhadap leukosit dan bakteri terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan p<0.05 (p = 0.000 dan 0.002). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan terdapat perbedaan terhadap hasil jumlah pemeriksaan leukosit dan bakteri urine segar dengan urine yang ditunda selama 3 jam di suhu ruang dan suhu lemari pendingin pada pasien suspek Infeksi Saluran Kemih (ISK).
