KADAR HEMOGLOBIN PEROKOK AKTIF REMAJA PRIA USIA 18-24 TAHUN PADA PESERTA MEDICAL CHECK UP (MCU) TENAGA KERJA INDONESIA (TKI) DI KLINIK AZZAHRA MEDICAL CENTRE

Clinical laboratory examination is an important supporting factor in helping to diagnose a disease,one of which is Hb examination.Aims to detect general symptoms of anemia. Smoking habit can increase carbon monoxide levels.Increased carbon monoxide in the body affacts Hb to bind with oxygen. Because,carbon monoxide has a stronger affinity to bind to Hb than the affinity that oxygen has to bind to Hb. The aim of this study was to determine the Hb levels of active smokers in young men aged 18-24 years in medical check up pasrticipants for Indonesian workers. This study used a zenix-144 hematology analyzer with the volumetric impedance. Descriptive observational research method with a cross sectional approach. The population of this study were male teenagers participating in medical check up. sampling technique used was total sampling. The average value of Hb levels in 33 active smoker respondents aged 18-24 years was 16.2 g/dL.Based on this,Hb levels are still within normal levels.Based on the age of smokers,the youngest and least age was 18 years,namely 1 participants(3%) and the oldest age was 24 years namely 6 participants(18.2%).Hb levels based on length of smoking showed that smokers who had smoked for <3 years as many as 6 MCU parcicipants had normal Hb values as many 6 participants with a percentage of 19% for >3 years,25 years participants had normal Hb values with a percentage of 75% and 2 participants had high values with a percentage of 6% the Hb levels of smokers who smoked >10 cigarettes per day had normal Hb values for 31 participants with a percentage of 93% and high for 2 participants with a percentage of 7%.
